I play CSGO Competitively and I'm wondering whether I should cap my fps or play with it uncapped. I've got a 60hz Samsung monitor. Should I cap it at 60 fps or 120 fps or just let it fluctuate from 0 - 300? Thank in advance! Best regards, Jonathan
There's literally no point in higher fps than what your monitor can support. If you have a G-Sync monitor, cap fps 2-3 below your refresh rate. Otherwise just cap fps to your refresh rate. Also with G-Sync, disable Vsync in games and enable it in the control panel to work alongside G-Sync. Do not cap.
Don't cap your frame rate or don't use vsync if you have a high-end rig which can exceed over 60 or even 100+fps because it will be quite smoother. In high fps games pike CS:GO you should never turn on vsync or cap fps. Rrcomended use for both if you are exceeding 60+fps and it has stutters.
Here is a simple step by step guide how to see the CS:GO FPS: 1. Start CS:GO and open the developer console. If you haven't activated it yet, open the settings, search for the "game" tab and enable the console. For more details how to activate the CS:GO Console find this quick guide. Setup a key for the console:
Blur Busters was the world's first site to test G-SYNC in Preview of NVIDIA G-SYNC, Part #1 (Fluidity) using an ASUS VG248QE pre-installed with a G-SYNC upgrade kit. At the time, the consensus was limiting the fps from 135 to 138 at 144Hz was enough to avoid V-SYNC-level input lag. However, much has changed since the first G-SYNC upgrade kit
